Backend Developer

At XLAB, we have a wide range of projects, as well as one of the strongest research teams in Slovenia. We regularly participate in European research projects, where we develop new technologies and design frameworks that could be used in the future as new solutions in the evolving fields of cloud services, IoT, and AI.

We also have several ongoing commercial projects, collaborating with both domestic clients (ministries, URSZR, Borzen) and international partners (Red Hat, Huawei, Messer).

We’re looking to expand our team with new talent. If you join us, you’ll have the opportunity to work on:

• European research projects and the development of future technologies (architecture design, system integration, security frameworks and monitoring, cloud services, etc.),
• backend development of software solutions focused on automation (Python, Django, Ansible),
• development of the Gaea+ software solution (Java, PostgreSQL) to support emergency call centers with geographical, location and contact information.

SKILLS we’re looking for

• Experience and ability to independently code in Python or Java,
• Experience with Git source code control systems,
• Experience in using and developing web APIs,
• Ability to independently provide and justify problem solutions,
• English proficiency.

BONUS SKILLS (can be useful, but don’t worry if you don’t have them)

Some experience with:

• Django/Flask,
• SQL databases,
• Testing software code (Integration/Regression testing),
• Virtualisation technologies (KVM, VirtualBox, Vagrant),
• Containers and container orchestration frameworks (Docker, Kubernetes),
• Configuration and deployment tools: Ansible, Terraform,
• Message brokers and protocols (AMQP).
