We have been celebrating our 20th anniversary since the beginning of the year. The activities started with our T-shirt and New Year’s wish, and in line with the message “Every piece counts” - that each and every one of us is an important part of XLAB - the goal was to involve all of our colleagues in the activities. So that everyone could experience and create the anniversary together. All in all, we wanted everyone to feel they really are a vital part of this milestone.
We’ve looked at what makes us XLAB and some of the most memorable moments, we’ve asked colleagues to share their memories and experiences of working at XLAB, we’ve talked to the members of the first teams about what was the atmosphere like in the early days and what has remained the same over time, and we’ve talked to our leadership about how it all began, the successes that followed and the lessons learned along the way.
And the highlight of all the anniversary activities we did throughout the year was the “Every Piece Counts” anniversary event.
The anniversary event was all about celebrating who we are, our journey, achievements, and most importantly, our people. Because to build something great, a lot of pieces have to fall together. And every piece counts.
We looked at how we experience working at XLAB, what the atmosphere is like in different teams, hear from our remote co-workers, and find out what colleagues from other countries think about living and working in Slovenia.
We laughed about the funny adventures, memories and stories from the founders and first team members. And as a special surprise, our beloved partners and customers, who are an important part of our journey, honoured us with unique messages and wishes.
We didn’t know until almost the last minute if we would be able to organize the event live or if it would have to be taking place online. In the end, everything worked out for the best, we were able to celebrate in person, and because it was the first time we were all together after the pandemic began, it was that much more meaningful and magical.
When you celebrate 20 years of success and such an amazing team behind it, it needs to be immortalized with a proper party. And that, our friends, is exactly what we did! Here’s the proof.
