This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101095542.

Currently, about 500,000 different types of medical devices are manufactured by medical technology companies (e.g., wearables, implantable and stationary medical devices, mobile connected medical devices). CYLCOMED provides SMEs and companies that manufacture, integrate and use connected medical devices (CMDs) and platforms to manage such devices with a comprehensive set of tools to implement measures for secure communication and behaviour, user authentication/access control and data protection, device integrity, software maintenance, and integrated visualisation of security information.

The CYLCOMED toolbox includes the development and use of AI-based systems or techniques. The toolbox facilitates integration by device manufacturers, healthcare facilities, and platform integrators, enabling stakeholders to avoid and prevent cyber risks in the CMDs ecosystem.

The CYLCOMED project is driven by a strong consortium of 10 partners and combines business expertise, social science and deep technical knowledge in cybersecurity and data protection solutions.

XLAB’s role

XLAB’s specialty in the project is Artificial intelligence. XLAB develops and integrates unsupervised NLP-based methods for automated analysis of logs and for accurate and efficient detection of anomalies in logs generated by CMDs and platform that manages CMDs.
